WHEN GOD BECAME A MAN

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is God with us. Mat. 1:23 - Isa. 7:14.

There are countless numbers of people in the world today who sing, talk and preach about Jesus, but there are really just a few who actually know who He is! Only a few in comparison to the throngs know that the "Son born of Mary" was only a veil (flesh) in which the very God of heaven, Jehovah Himself dwelt! Remember the words of the Master when He said, "I speak not of myself: but the Father that DWELLETH in me, he doeth the works (John 14:10). Not just the character and goodness of the Father but the very Father Himself dwelt in the human form that came from the body of Mary. Jesus was both God and man - The very fact that He was both God and man teaches any honest heart that He was both Father and Son!

When Jesus was born in Bethlehem He was God among men. Paul teaches plainly that "God was manifest in the flesh" - 1 Tim. 3:16. This isn't "one of the Gods" made flesh as our trinity friends teach! There is and never has been but ONE true God and He is the creator of heaven and earth! It was this ONE true God that came to earth in the form of a man and paid the price for my soul and yours. The holy one that made the world in the beginning and created man in His own image and likeness "was in the world" and the "world knew him not." - They thought he was just man (Son) but thank God! He was the mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace (Isa. 9:6). Yes, it is true that the child of Bethlehem was Son and He was a man! In addition to this I am happy to acknowledge and preach His Divinity and Deity! He was "very God" in the flesh (2nd Cor. 5:19).

When Jesus was born in Bethlehem, if he had not been God, he would have either been a deceiver or else the Old Testament would have been false! The prophet Isaiah prophesied of "The voice of him (John) that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, (Jesus) make straight in the desert a highway for our God" (Isa. 40:3). John the Baptist prepared the way for the Christ, the prophet Isaiah called him "our God" - If you turn in your Bible to John 20:28 - you will see where Thomas saw the Lord Jesus after His resurrection and said unto Him, "My Lord and my God"- The Lord Jesus did not rebuke Thomas for this statement but rather told him, "Blessed are they that have not seen, yet believe."

The very fact that Jesus received and accepted WORSHIP during His ministry is clear proof that He is and was "very God" - (Mat. 2:11- Mat. 28:9). Any child should know that the God of the Bible has plainly condemned worship to any other man or creature but Himself! Jesus told Satan these words: "Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. (Mat. 4:10). The "Lord thy God" is the ONE and ONLY we should worship today! Yes, it is correct to worship Jesus for He is "My Lord and God" - John 20:28.

There are some today who admit that Jesus is God but in the same breath will deny that Jesus is the Father! The Bible teaches there is only ONE God! (Eph. 4:6 - James 2:19 - Jer. 10:10 - Mark 12:29). Now, if Jesus is GOD, He is the ONE AND ONLY God because there isn't another. God almighty said, "beside Me there is no god" (Isa. 44:6). Jesus isn't one third God or just a part God, He is very God! Because He is "Very God" proves without doubt that He is our Father. If Jesus is the "Everlasting Father" then the prophet Isaiah made an error in his prophesy! He prophesied that He was "Mighty God and Everlasting Father" (Isa. 9:6). Don't you dare let Satan tell you that this message is untrue!

Jesus Himself made the claim that He was the Father! Philip ask Jesus a simple question, "Shew us the Father" (John 14:8). Jesus answered this question by saying: "he that hath seen ME hath seen the Father" (Ver. 9). Do you think that Jesus misled his disciples? Surely you wouldn't think for a moment that He would tell them wrong! They desired to see the Father and Jesus told them simply to look at Him! When you see me, you see the Father - I am in the Father, and the Father in me. I and my Father are one (John 10:30). The fulness of the Godhead is in Jesus (Col. 2:8-10). Our message today is still the same! We are pointing men to Jesus; we know that when men see the Lord Jesus Christ as the Bible presents Him, they will see the great god of all eternity! Jesus is the IMAGE of the invisible God - (Col. 1:15 - 1st Tim. 1:17 - Heb. 11:27 - John 4:24).

To see Jesus as the Mighty God is to see and understand the one and only "saving name" (Acts 4:12). The reason more people fail to see the glory attached to this wonderful and powerful name of Jesus is because they have listened to false teachers as they seek to divide the Godhead into a trinity of persons, thus distracting their minds from the "holy one" - Note this: Many places God mentions the "holy one" but not ONE place does He ever mention the "holy two" or the "holy three" - Why? The answer is simple. There is one and there is not a second!

Job spoke to his friends in this manner: Will ye accept this PERSON? Will ye contend for God? (Job 13:8) In verse ten we read where he said, He will surely reprove you, if ye do secretly accept PERSONS. We earnestly contend that Jesus Christ is the one and only person of God. The Bible tells us that GOD is a Spirit (John 4:24) and that He (God) is invisible . . . (1st Tim. 1:17). Notice again that God is INVISIBLE! We read where the apostle Paul tells us that JESUS is the IMAGE of the INVISIBLE God (Col. 1:15). The invisible, eternal, immortal and only wise God is VISIBLE in the Son Jesus Christ.

Either Jesus was the one and only true God on earth or there was another God separate from Him that lived in another world! The Bible simply does not teach but ONE God. (Jas. 2:19 - Jer. 10:10) The truth of the matter is this: The God of heaven came to earth in the form of a man but remained God. This great and eternal God was so powerful and great that He filled the highest heavens and at the same time walked the shores of Galilee in the form of man (Son). This is true and no man can dispute it from the word of God. Jesus is the true God, and eternal life. (1st John 5:20) John the Revelator saw Him (Jesus) to be the Almighty. (Rev. 1:7-8) To understand Jesus to be the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, is to see the necessity of being baptized in His name. (Acts 2:38 - Acts 8:16 - Acts 19:5)
