Those Who Touched Jesus Found Great Results

Turn with us into the word of God to St. Matthew 14:34-36. "And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret. And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased; And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole. "Isn't it wonderful the mighty power that Jesus had in that day and we know He is still the same today! In St. Luke 6:17-19 we read of how Jesus and His disciples were in the plain and a great multitude of people from Judea, Jerusalem, Tyre and Sidon came to hear Him and be healer of whatever diseases they had. Others in the crowd were seeking, to be freed from unclean spirits that tormented them, Verse 19 tells us the wonderful result, of their efforts. "And the whole multitude sought to touch him.: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all." Regardless of the miles these people had traveled and the problems they encountered along the way, it was well worth the effort when they made contact with Jesus! In Mark 3:10-11 we learn of the masses of people pressing upon Jesus to touch Him because of their plagues. Even unclean spirits fell down before Him and had to acknowledge that He was indeed the Son of God! A very touching example of a woman who so desired t.o touch Jesus is found in Matt. 9:20-22. This poor woman had been hemorrhaging for 12 long years. In Mark 5:25-34 we notice that she had been to many doctors seeking help for this terrible condition. This had taken all of her money and she wasn't any better at all but continually growing worse. She heard about Jesus and made an effort to reach Him. As usual, there was a large crowd gathered around Him, but she pressed her way through them. "For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole." The results were outstanding! Jesus told her, "Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole! From that very hour, the woman was whole! In Mark 6:54-56 Jesus and His disciples came out of the ship and the people of the whole region began to carry the sick in beds wherever He was! And wherever He traveled into villages, cities or country they laid the sick in the streets and begged Him if they could only touch the border of His garment. The Bible says, "and as many as touched him were made whole". Luke 7:36-50 teaches us of a Pharisee who invited Jesus into his home to eat. As they ate a sinner woman from the city came in and washed His feet with her tears, wiped them with her hair and anointed Him with ointment from an alabaster box. Verse 39, "Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner." Jesus reproved him for his thoughts and to the woman who made such. an effort and showed Him such love. He said, "Thy.sins are forgiven." I am trusting, that the lost and backslidden will reach out to Jesus with the prayer of repentance and be saved before it's too late. And just as we have read of how Jesus healed these who were sick and afflicted He is abundantly able to heal those around us today if we can touch the hem of His garment in faith! You all just look up to Jesus and depend on Him; He is the answer to every need!!!
