But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: Titus 2:1.
All honest and God-fearing people know that we are living in a world of much religious error. This is a time of "Lo here or Lo there" as men arise in a religious guise to draw away disciples after them. Our world is filled with people who fall for everything and stand for nothing! On every side we see those who are only interested in demonstration. They look for some great claim in the way of a miracle and never stop to examine a teaching in the light of God's word! I take this opportunity to warn every reader of this message to "watch and pray" where any religious service is concerned! God's people will not be deceived by the evils of the world . . . they will be deceived by false teachers who say it is a sin to preach doctrine, so they follow the course of least resistance by dwelling long and loud on miracles and spiritual demonstrations!
I wish to point out here that we most certainly believe and teach divine healing and miracles in this day! The word of God teaches that the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up . . . (Jas. 5:13-18). We know that Jesus is able to do "exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think . . . (Eph. 3:30) The Lord said, If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. (John 15:7) These scriptures alone will prove to the honest heart that healing and other miracles are in order for this day and age according to the will and plan of God.
Most of the world today does not want the truth! Yes, many of them want miracles but not doctrine. The truth of the matter is you can't preach any part of God's word and not preach doctrine. The entire Bible is made up of doctrine! Much of the Bible is accepted by all who believe in Jesus without any argument. On the other hand there are points of important doctrine that many preachers will "pass the buck" on for they know well and good that it will hurt their crowds, offerings and friends if they bear down like it is written! Divine healing is a doctrine and so is Water Baptism! Here is the difference: Most everyone will accept divine healing in one form or another, but water baptism will really draw fire if you preach it according to the examples in the Bible. (Acts 2:38-Acts 8:16-Acts 19:5) God is looking for ministers' today that will preach the whole thing regardless of who is offended or who objects! Any doctrine that Jesus died for and all that the apostles declared should be preached today with joy.
We are told in the Bible these words: Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they, are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. (lst. John 4:1) Here is the question: How does one go about in this day to try a spirit? Is it by their dress? Is it by their command of the English language? Is it by the crowds large or small that attends their services? Certainly not! Preachers and religious exercises are tried in the light of God's word. The apostle Paul said, But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. (Gal. 1:8) How about Paul's preaching? Do you think he preached doctrine? This apostle preached one Lord and one God (Eph. 4:4-6). He preached that "God was manifest in the flesh . . . (1st. Tim. 3:16). This apostle spoke in tongues (1st. Cor. 14:18). He taught the disciples about Jesus at Ephesus and they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus (Acts 19:1-7). Beware of these so-called miracle working preachers that cry "Don't preach doctrine" and for sure we know they don't stand for the things mentioned above that all of the apostles taught!
My friends do you know that the Bible teaches that miracles can be wrought through and by the power of the devil? The Beast that is soon to rise will come "after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders." (2nd. Thess. 2:8-9) Notice this same Beast that will be taken, and with him the FALSE PROPHET that wrought miracles before him . . . (Rev. 19:20). Let me call your attention to Simon who bewitched the people of Samaria and all of them thought he was the great power of God. (Acts 8:9-10) We read of another man that was called a FALSE PROPHET who sought to turn away the chief deputy from hearing the word of God. Acts 13:6-12). Don't be deceived today by any preacher or religious body that survives on miracles and at the same time refuse to preach the simple truths of the Bible.
Isn't it peculiar how many preachers can see Jesus to be a great healer but they can't see that we are to DO ALL in word or deed in his NAME? (Col. 3:17) They pray for the sick in His Name but if and when they baptize a person they call a group of powerless and empty titles in so doing! They are able to see Jesus as the great physician but not as the Mighty God, everlasting Father and Prince of Peace! (Isa. 9:6; John 20:28; John 14:6-9; Col. 2:8-9) What is wrong? Is it because they can't read in the Bible that Jesus is God and that the apostles baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ? Certainly not! It is because most of the world is rocked in the trinity tradition and they will not accept Jesus as the Father's name. Most of these great (so-called) miracle preachers today will not touch these scriptures! They know if they do, their support by this trinity group is gone! Have you ever wondered at what Jesus thinks? Does He desire that we preach the truth, His doctrine, the pure word of God, or some man-made creed that was hatched in Rome and accepted by her daughters?
Paul tells us that the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears. (2nd. Tim. 4:1-4) Yes, the ears of those who do not wish to hear truth are itching! They wish to hear something easy and light . . . We hear the word of God saying, Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in faith. (Titus 1:13) Don't forget the words of the wise man: There is a way that seemeth right unto man, but the end therof are the ways of death. (Prov. 16:25) Look to the word of God for safe instruction. Stand on the Bible if you must stand alone! His word is right and everything that opposes it is wrong.
