JESUS CHRIST THE LORD OF GLORY
The first man is of the earth, earthly: the second man is the Lord from heaven. (lst. Cor 15:47)
Truly the Lord Jesus Christ is the man of mystery! During His earthly ministry men had conflicting opinions as to who He was and for the purpose He had come into the world. The apostle Paul made mention of the wisdom of God, Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. (lst. Cor. 2:7-8) Let us carefully note that in the text as well as the verse given above, He (Jesus) is called the LORD OF HEAVEN! He isn't the second person in the trinity as human tradition vainly expounds, but He is the First and the Last (Rev. 1:17) the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; Who only hath immorality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see; to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen. (1st. Tim. 6:14-16) Paul has plainly said that He (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: (Col. 1: 15)
Men know that the word "trinity" is not to be found in the inspired Book of God. They well know that no where in the divine word of God can such terms as "holy two or holy three" be found! On the other hand they are aware that over fifty times the Old and New Testament makes mention of the Saviour as the "Holy One." Men today well know that the doctrine of the trinity cannot possibly be supported in the least by the Old Testament (many of them are honest enough to confess it). These teachers are aquainted with such bold passages that declare the coming Saviour to be "The Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace." (Isa. 9:6) They know that Jehovah said, "There is no God with me" (Deut. 32:39); No God before me . . (Isa 43:10) No God beside me . . . (Isa. 45:5). Men know that if there were two more existing persons as the trinity teaches that these and many other passages fail to recognize them!
Bear in mind that Jehovah said that He was alone and by myself when He stretched forth the heavens and spread abroad the earth. (Isa. 44:24) If He was alone as He stated, I will ask our trinity friends, "Where were the other two?" Were they hid? Did Jehovah know about them? He ask this question: Is there a GOD beside me? Yea, there is no God; I know not any. (Isa. 45:8) The trinity doctrine teaches that the Father, Son and Holy Ghost pre-existed from the foundation of the world as THREE seperate and distinct persons ! ! ! They further state that each of them are GOD . . . If this be true, (thank God it isn't) How could Jehovah truthfully say He was alone and there is no God with or beside me? If there be THREE persons and EACH ONE God" and the Bible says if ye believe there is ONE GOD you do well . . . (Jas. 2:19). I am truly glad that this great and Mighty One has plainly stated that "I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me." (Isa. 45:5) The next verse says . . . there is none beside me. I am the Lord and there is none else.
We earnestly contend that the Lord God Almighty of the Old Testament is the Lord Jesus Christ of the New. God is a Spirit (John 4:24) and He was manifest in the flesh . . . believed on in the world and was received up into glory. (1st. Tim. 3:16) When the Christ child was born in Bethlehem many years ago He was "Emmanuel" which being interpreted is "God with us" (Isa. 7:14 - Mat. 1: 23) He was God the Word (John 1: 1) made FLESH (John 1: 14) and dwelt among us. The very same one that made the world (Gen. 1: 1) was IN THE WORLD and the world knew HIM NOT! (John 1: 10) We read at least ten times in the New Testament where the Lord Jesus received worship (Mat. 9:18 - Mat. 15:25 - Mat. 14:33 - Mat. 28:9 - Mat. 2:11 - Mat. 8:2 - Mat. 28:17 - Luke 24:52 - Mark 5:6 - John 9:38) Every one surely knows that only the ONE true and living God is to receive holy worship from the children of men. It is written that, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. (Mat. 4:10)
All that God and heaven means is found in the Lord Jesus Christ. Think about it, it is all in Jesus! In HIM dwells ALL (not just a part) of the Godhead bodily. (Col. 2:8-10) He is the HEAD of ALL principality and power! He is the "chief corner stone" (Eph. 2:20) and there is salvation in none other. (Acts 4:12) When His disciples ask Him to show them the Father, He didn't point them to some distant land or place! He simply said.......... he hath SEEN ME hath seen the Father . . . (John 14:7-9). Did the Master speak the truth? Do you think for one moment that He was caught off guard and spoke unwisely? Certainly not! He meant exactly what He said, for the simple reason HE was God Almighty in the form of man. In another place He spoke almost the same words when He said: And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. (John 12:45)
Please bear in mind that Jesus was BOTH God and man. As man He prayed, slept, ask questions, ate, drank, etc . . . As God He answered prayers, He never slept, He answered un-ask questions, He fed the multitudes on fish and bread and gave living water! As man he claimed limited power but as God He knew all things and had power over death, hell and the grave. (John 21:17 - Rev. 1:18) Don't overlook the fact that Jesus was the GOD MAN. . . He was human and divine, Father and Son, Spirit and flesh.
The spiritually blind called Him a devil (Mat. 12:24). Others called him just a good man, while others called Him a prophet. On one occasion the multitude acknowledged that in Him "God hath visited His people." (Luke 7:16) Paul taught that God was in Christ, (2nd. Cor. 5:19) reconciling the world unto himself. He (God) laid down his life for the brethren (1st John 3:16) and purchased the church with His own Blood. (Acts 20:28) Is it any wonder that many believed Him to be just the son of David or one of the prophets risen from the dead? (Mat. 16:14)
Jesus the Christ was truly the man of mystery! Veiled in human flesh was the great Creator of heaven and earth. Hidden from the carnal mind, yet clearly seen in Spirit! Jesus revealed the Father (Mat. 11:27); the Father revealed the Son (Mat. 16:17) Behold Him today! It is He and not another. Thomas beheld Him saying, My Lord and my God. (John 20:28) Jesus in us the hope of glory (Col. 1:27). All glory and power to Him now and forever more. Praise Him, Praise Him!
