Let's turn into God's holy word and read from the book of Revelation, chapter 2, verse 17, "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches." This is certainly a day when the people of God need to hear not only with their natural ears, but we need desperately to obey what the Spirit saith unto church. I am especially glad that Jesus will give to every honest and seeking heart an ear to hear and an eye to see. There is an instance in the life of the great Apostle Paul when one woman heard what she needed to hear and then she obeyed. Acts 16:14, "And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshiped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul. She invited these good Oneness ministers into her home and treated them so kindly. It is the most wonderful sight to see God deal with a person and watch them respond. We find in 1st. Cor. 1:18, "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God." There are many people that don't seem to even be affected when they hear the glorious message of salvation; but when God opens our ears and eyes spiritually, it is truly the power of God. No wonder then that we learn in 2nd. Cor. 4:3, "But if our gospel is hid, it is hid to them that are lost, Isn't that a sad situation? The Lord spoke of a people whose heart is waxed gross and their ears are dull of hearing and their eyes have been closed lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their hearts, and should be converted, and the Lord should heal them. You may read about this in Acts 28:26 and 27 referring to Isaiah 6:9,10. This is a picture of the spiritual state of mankind in this day. They have turned aside to their own ways and rejected the word of the Lord. Many today have eyes but cannot see; they have ears but cannot hear. The Bible tells us in 2nd. Cor. 4:4, "in whom the god of this world (Satan) hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." In the face of this, it is good to know that if the lost will turn to Jesus when they feel conviction, Jesus will command the LIGHT to shine into their hearts, and they can see spiritually and be saved in the end. If God has opened your eyes and ears to this great truth, rejoice and share it with everyone along life's pathway!!!
