Doctrine
of Eternal Security, Unsafe
1st John 5:16-If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not
unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto
death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say he shall pray for it. This
scripture proves without doubt that a Christian can sin a sin that will not be
forgiven; this is contrary to the doctrine of eternal security. Heb. 2:3-How
shall we escape, If WE neglect so great a salvation? This inspired writer
includes himself with this people he is writing in stating there is no escape if
we neglect our salvation. He later told the same people that we are made
partakers of Christ, IF we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto
the end (Heb. 5:14). Exo. 52:31-33-And Moses returned unto the Lord, and
said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.
Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out
of thy book which thou hast written. And the Lord said unto Moses, Whosoever
hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book. This passage proves to
us as to how God will act in the case of sin; this is rather hard on the
doctrine of once saved, always saved. 2nd Peter 2:4-For if God spared not the
angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them unto chains
of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment. If the doctrine of eternal security
be true then we are by far safer than the angels in heaven because they were
cast into darkness because they sinned. Mat. 24:13-But he that shall endure unto
the end, the same shall be saved. If only they who endure to the end will be
saved, what will be the end of those who fail to endure and obey the gospel of
God? Gal. 5:4-Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are
justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. Can a person be saved if they
have fallen from grace? Paul warns this people concerning the works of the law,
and by so doing they are fallen from grace. Rom. 8:13-For if ye live after the
flesh, ye shall die: but if you through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the
body, ye shall live. This doesn't sound in favor of eternal security; do you
think so? Ezek. 3:20-Again, when a righteous man doth turn from his
righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he
shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and
his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will
I require at thine hand. Please read and study this passage and see if it
teaches that if a man is ever once saved he will not be lost no matter how he
lives before God. John 15:6-If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a
branch, and is withered; and men gather them and cast them into the fire, and
they are burned. This is ample proof that Jesus will cast you off if we sin and
refuse to repent of the evil; it is a dangerous thing to trifle with our soul. 1st
Cor. 9:27-But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest by any
means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. This
scripture seems to prove a possibility of getting away from God and becoming a
castaway; read it close. 1st Chron. 28:9-If thou seek Him, He will be
found of thee; but if thou forsake Him, He will cast thee off forever. Brother,
this is rather plain and strong language; if we forsake Him, He will cast us off
forever. Notice it is US that forsakes Him, and then He will do the rest.
