COME TO THE FOUNTAIN OF LIVING WATER     For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and have hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.  Jeremiah 2:13.
    In the outset of our message today we are happy to point you to Jesus that precious and ever-flowing fountain that satisfies the longing of the heart!   The Master said, I am the bread of life:  he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.  (John 6:35)  I know today that if you will come to Jesus with ALL your cares an trust Him with all your heart in complete submission and obedience, your heart will sing out with joy because "There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad..." (Psalms  46:4)  God said that waters shall break out in the wilderness, and streams in the desert... The parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water... (Isaiah 35:6-7)  Amen!
    We are living in a world of unrest!  Men are running to and fro. The peoples of the world are busily engaged in eating, drinking, marrying, buying, selling, planting, building and leaving God out of their life and their programs!  Never has there been such a time of prosperity and lascivious living.   Sin in every form and fashion seems to be dominating the mind of the majority!  In the midst of this there are more church buildings, greater so-called religious teachings and more people going to church in some form of religion than ever before!  Yet the masses in church and out (largely speaking) are hungry (spiritually) and dis-satisfied!  I insist that people are looking for something that will change their heart!  Something that will change their life and give them something to live for and to look forward to!  A few dry songs by a worldly choir' a cold heart-less message read by some educated, self called and appointed preacher as he plays politics and compromises with sin to suit the crowd...This doesn't satisfy the cry from the heart of that precious soul that is perishing for spiritual water.
    God has told us that in the last days there would be a "form of godliness, but denying the power thereof:  from such turn away." (2nd Timothy 3:5)  Our so-called Christian America is filled with religious people as they draw nigh unto God with their mouth, and honoreth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.  (Matthew 15:8-9)  Jesus said, But in VAIN do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.  These are truly "wells without water" (2nd Peter 2:17) and as Jeremiah said in the text, "broken cisterns that can hold no water... I am pleading with the hungry hearts today as you read this message to heed the words of Paul in the verse above, when he said:  "From such turn away."  Come out from those who speak lightly of God's great and holy name (Jesus).  Refuse to hear those who ignore the altar of prayer and the glorious Baptism of the Holy Spirit!  Turn a deaf ear to the plea of that man that reflects on God's power to heal the sick and to comfort the broken in heart!  Jude said, These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.  (verse 19) let us return to the "old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls...(Jeremiah 6:16)  But they said, We will not walk therein.
    I lay the blame for any such reckless and vain religion at the feet of the ministry.  Jesus said, Let them alone:  they be blind leaders of the blind.  And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.  (Matthew 15:14)  God spoke of watchmen who are blind; they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.  Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand:  they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.  (Isaiah 56:10-11)
    These are the false teachers who scoff when you teach honest hearts that Jesus commands that sinners repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins...(Acts 2:38).  These are the blind watchmen who deny the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance.  They despise the precious Blood of Jesus that sanctifies wholly and makes the sinner as white as snow!  I am still pleading with you to shake yourself free from the vice of Satan and return to the Lord and seek his face for deliverance.  Style and pride might bring a feeling of importance in this day...but, when the wheels of time stand still; when the deeds of darkest night come out to greet the Light, then you will know that the important thing was to have Jesus in your life!
    I am happy today that I can point you to the the "fountain opened for sin and uncleanness."  (Zechariah 13:1)  Not one soul turned aside!  Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.  (Revelation 22:17)  If you drink this water you will never thirst;  but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of living water springing up into everlasting life.  (John 4:13-14)  O how wonderful to know every soul can come without money, come to the waters, come buy and eat...(Isaiah 55:1-3)  Jesus loves and is willing and ready to fill your heart and life with good things and make the days bright and happy.  Please lay aside the doctrines of men and come to Jesus the great God and our Savior!
