A SEPARATE PEOPLE

In this hour when darkness is covering the earth, and gross darkness the people; God's people should be striving to be a more separated people from this world. They must realize and know that we must be different to the world. Paul, in writing to the Corinthian Church, told them in 2nd. Cor. 6:17, "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate (different), saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you." Paul went on to say in verse 18, "And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." God's people can be identified as His children by the places they go and the company they keep. He is coming for a people who are looking for Him. Heb. 9:28, "So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation." To be separate we have to be different to every person that is a lover of this world. Satan will tell us it is no harm to dress like others and go to worldly places. We should dress as becometh holiness and not try to pattern after the world or be found at worldly places that we would be afraid to be if Jesus were to come. The next time He comes, He is coming for those that look for Him. The world will separate you from their company, but keep your eyes on Jesus and keep obeying His word in all things. On that day when you stand in His presence, we can have the joy of hearing Him say, "Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit (come into possession of) the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world." We have to be doers of the word and not hearers only. Just remember what the Lord said in St. Matt. 7:21, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." (Sis. Elizabeth did a wonderful work for the Lord in the Logan Mill area where she pastored for years. She stood so firm upon God's Word and I'm expecting to meet her somewhere out there in that city that Jesus,has gone to prepare.)
